Do this is remembrance of me...
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is the perfect offering made to God because it is Christ Himself who is priest and victim.
Around the world, hour by hour, as the Eucharist is offered, Jesus’ sacrifice on Calvary and His Resurrection are made present, and His redeeming work continues for all. Christ told us, “Do this in memory of Me.” The benefits of each Mass are infinite and include the whole world. The Blood of the new and everlasting covenant was “shed for you and for all.” Those who have holy Mass offered and those for whom a Mass is offered partake in a special way of the grace of the Eucharistic sacrifice. During each Mass, the faithful bring the symbolic gifts of bread and wine to the altar for which they actually provide the monetary means to purchase these elements used for Mass. This is what is meant by the “offering” for Mass.
Christians have a long tradition of having Mass celebrated for living or deceased family members and friends. This custom of having Mass celebrated is praiseworthy because it evidences a concern for the Church and the work of her priests.
Mass offerings take on an added dimension when they are sent to Missionary priests. Mass stipends are often the only means of daily support for priests in mission lands. Most salaries are $50.00 per month, so Mass stipends often supply the essentials needed to live each day.
The customary offering for a Mass is $10. Masses offered through the Propagation of the Faith benefit your loved ones, and support the essential work of the Church—bringing the Gospel to the nations!

At Baptism, we are called to be a missionary, to share our faith and pass on the Good News of Jesus among the mission poor. Through the Propagation of the Faith, we can reach out to the peoples of the world by providing prayers and financial assistance to missionary priests, religious Sisters and Brothers, and lay catechists.
In making this commitment, we pledge to… PRAY daily for the missionary work of the Church, offering our personal crosses for missionaries and those they serve.
Membership in the Society for the Propagation of Faith is vitally important for the ongoing support of missions in over 1,150 dioceses around the world. The Society’s members enable Christ’s mission to continue with strong convictions, zealous ambitions, and energetic apostolic work.
